Lucky Trucker on Forth Road Bridge – 28 December 2011

The driver of this truck ignored signs stating that the Forth Road Bridge was closed to all vehicles except cars due to high winds on 28 December 2011. This clip shows why restrictions during high winds are necessary! Shortly after this the driver was apprehended by bridge workers and handed over to the police – but he was incredibly lucky that nobody was killed or injured.

@deckelpc FRB was open to Cars Only since about 13:00 (twitted at 13:07)? that day so for sure driver passed signs on the way to FRB. I saw this driver on the other side of the bridge talking to the police. almost no damage done to? the trailer.
The other drivers must all? be ruddy idiots too!! How close do you have to be to the car in front to see what the hold up is!?? jeeeeeeeezzzz!!!

Question for the bridge traffic officer: Do you know what was the wind gust? speed at the moment. As i know the bridge was closed at 22m/sec for this truck&trailer
